Pictures from Day 1

We began building the night of Friday, February 20th at Randy's house, basically just getting the alcohol burner from the last iteration of this project set up with a boiler above it.

As you can see, we began with a very detailed plan. Well, maybe not so detailed, but hey. It works.

We were rather enthusiastic about our new project, as you can see.

As you can see, perhaps, in some of these pictures, our boiler worked pretty well in its first test. The alcohol burner was burning acetone for this test, which gives better heat and a higher flame, though smells worse. It's also a little messier, hence the melted duct tape where a spill repeatedly caught fire until it burned itself dry.
